First wall goes up in new St. Pete Police building

The first wall in the new police headquarters construction project was raised today. The $78.5 million project on 1st Avenue North is expected to be completed expected  in early 2019. The concrete was initially poured into frames on the ground. Early today, a crane lifted the  first slab, or wall, and placed it in permanent position.  Afterwards, a temporary  metal brace was added to keep it in place. The walls will all be going up in the next couple of weeks.  (Nov. 17, 2017) Video provided by St. Petersburg Police Dept.
