Man released from life sentence leaves Hillsborough jail with milkshake on his mind

Floyd LaFountain, talks with reporters after being released from the Orient Road Jail in Tampa on Feb. 3, 2017. He was picked up by Abe Brown Ministries, the organization that will help him with reintegration into society. LaFountain was a beneficiary of a series of U.S. and Florida Supreme Court decisions which held it unconstitutional to impose life sentences on juveniles. He was originally sentenced to life without parole for his role in a robbery at age 16 in 1994 in which one of his companions pulled a gun and left a man dead. On Wednesday, he was resentenced to 22 years, time he has already served. February 3, 2017, Video by: WILL VRAGOVIC | Tampa Bay Times
