Sheriff's reaction: Two Hernando officers resign after being charged with theft of money

Two veteran Hernando County sheriff's employees have been arrested and resigned in the wake of two unrelated criminal investigations. In the first case, Deputy Michael Glatfelter is accused of stealing roughly $14,000 from a local Fraternal Order of Police bank account, plus another $1,040 from a fund set up to help the family of Capt. Scott Bierwiler, who was killed in a crash while driving to work in 2009, Sheriff Al Nienhuis announced at a news conference Friday morning. [Octavio Jones | tampabay.com] (Dec. 27, 2013)
