Tampa Police seek armed Family Dollar robber

Tampa Police officers are asking for the public's assistance in identifying an armed suspect who robbed a local Family Dollar store. The suspect entered the store, located at 4900 North 40th Street at approximately 6 p.m. on September 17. He approached the register holding an unknown object in his right hand with what appeared to be a black t-shirt draped over it. The suspect held his hand up to the one of the store clerks, implied that he had a gun, and demanded money from both registers. The two store clerks complied with the suspect's demands and filled a shopping bag with money out of the registers. The suspect fled the scene with the stolen cash and got into a gold Nissan Maxima that was waiting for him directly behind the business along Louisiana Street.
