Training for school shootings

See how the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is training for school shootings at Osceola Middle. "With the upcoming school year, we want to make sure our deputies, and deputies throughout the county, in particular school resource officers, are prepared for the unthinkable," said Sgt. David DiSano, who is with the PCSO's public information office. "[It's] something that we absolutely would not want to happen, but if in case it should happen, we would be prepared." Other participating agencies included the Largo Police Department, Gulfport Police Department and various fire rescue agencies. Officers also used simunition rounds, which have a real bullet casing and soft, plastic tip that contains a "soap product." (Aug. 14, 2013; Seminole) [Chris Zuppa | Tampa Bay Times]
